My female ball python, Isis, crossed the rainbow bridge today. She had been sick for a while, and despite my best efforts and her seemingly getting better... she is gone. For now I'm going to hold back on getting another snake. Right now my male, Osiris, is needing my attention, because he is looking for his mate and seems very stressed... I'm a bit distraught as well, but this was in the end a learning experience for me. I will grieve, and then I will come back stronger and wiser for the loss.
In mythology, Isis was the Egyptian goddess of rainbows and rebirth... Perhaps my Isis will too be reborn into a happy, full life, free of illness or pain.
